The 3rd And The Mortal

“To celebrate the 30 years anniversary of the two albums we released in 1994 with Kari Rueslåtten, “Tears laid in Earth and “Sorrow”, we are planning to do some shows together in 2025 and 2026 playing songs from these albums. We have had a great time rehearsing together with Kari again after all these years, and we are very much looking forward to meeting fans and friends in the coming!”

The 3rd and the Mortal with Kari Rueslåtten – reuniting for live shows!

We are proud to announce that The 3rd and the Mortal are reuniting with their original vocalist Kari Rueslåtten for a surprise series of live shows in 2025/26.

Known for their pioneering blend of atmospheric doom metal and lyrical melodies, they are set to revisit the music that inspired bands in the metal scene such as Nightwish, three decades ago.

– “This reunion is about celebrating the music we created together with the friends and wonderful fans who have inspired us all along,” Kari says.

The band’s genre-defying mix of doom and progressive elements earned them a devoted following through multiple critically acclaimed album releases.

Though Kari left the band in 1995 to pursue a successful solo career, her time with The 3rd and the Mortal remains special.
The 3rd and the Mortal is a six-piece band, known for excellent musicianship.

– “When we play live, all music you hear from the stage is authentic, we don’t bring any pre-recorded tracks” the bass player Bernt says.

What can we expect from the live shows?
– “We will focus solely on the material we created when Kari was a part of the band, our debut EP, “Sorrow” (1994), and our first full-length album, “Tears Laid in Earth” (1994)” Trond, one of the three guitarists, says.

Fans can expect an unforgettable experience as the band breathes new life into their timeless music in live shows.

Rune the drummer speaks for them all when he says:
– “We cannot wait to get out there again and meet up with our wonderful fans and friends who has followed us for such a long time!”
